Hi, and welcome!  I’m Rebecca: an avid traveler, amateur baker, practicing oenophile, and an eager technologist. Originally from the Philadelphia area, I’ve lived in half a dozen places in the US and have traveled to dozens more around the world. I’m hoping to hit all 7 continents in the near future – I’m short by just one! – but there are a million places I want to see in-between.

After two adventure- and fun-filled years living in New Zealand, I’m back in the States. It was a chapter in my life full of challenges, lessons, and kindness: we fought with Immigration NZ, we built a house in Jacks Point, I made some new (lifelong) friends, and I joined a unique community of expats living far from home. I loved my time overseas! And now it’s time to re-settle into my life at home.

I love a good adventure, and thanks to an amazing opportunity, some fortuitous timing, and one incredibly handsome and supportive partner, I have left behind my corporate job in Miami to move my life to the other side of the planet.

I want to document what happens: the trials and tribulations of moving; the administrivia and preparation for building a new life overseas, including immigration, the job hunt, and, of course, making new friends; and ultimately, the overwhelming excitement of a crazy-awesome new adventure. I’m not saying it will be easy – few great things in life are – but I know it will be an unbelievable ride.

There is immense joy for me in pursuing this seemingly impossible dream. Join me, and hopefully you’ll be inspired to pursue yours too!
